Hello, I don't understand your comparison, the 60-600mm should have been compared to the 150-600mm sport and not contemporary one. Because optical treatment is not the same as weather protection. To say that there is no difference in sharpness is certainly wrong, moreover it would have been interesting to test these two lenses with a mirrorless camera..a R5 for example.

Hi, great job on these stock videos man, I am learning from you appreciate a lot! I have two questions about stock that are boggling me and I can't find the proper answer anywhere: 1) If for example we submit some picture that is illegal to sell (for example some architecture that, sculpture, piece of art) that we didn't know we needed owner approval or even if it has an owned in the first place to sell it but one of the stock agencies still approves it, then in the end in case of some rights problem who is there to blame, a contributor or the stock agency? What happens for example if we already earned something from that picture and someone will sue us for the lack of release? 2) Does stock do some kind of clean ups? Or a picture that is approved but for example never sells in like 10 years will still be there? Do you know anything about this topic?

I have never been a proponent of external zoom/focus lenses. But I know they are cheaper than internal ones...Cheers.

Hey Nicole, I love your videos thankyou. Do you already have a video to show how to upload newsworthy photos for the likes of say a protest ? I know it'll be editorial but it's impossible to get model releases for the upload....I think I might be overcomplicating my thought process 🙂

I am just starting with shutterstock and have been with Alamy for a few years now, still, I can see some nice values in Alamy, but once in a while, with 15 times less images in Shutterstock than Alamy I got already 3 downloads (in 10 days on the platform), yes, 30 cents,..., but I can see where you are going here. My most successful platform so far is Dreamstime where I have 12000 images, but I am also growing on iStock (where I have now close to 10.000), and Wirestock (where you can easily compare and Shutterstock is the strongest, second is Adobe). I am still waiting for Adobe to approve my first batch (they are very very slow, I can see that).

I recently went to DC and took some photos because I got lost and people are saying that I should do photography I did go to school for graphic design but I've never used a camera mostly drawing art t-shirt's logo's stuff Mostly Photoshop and Illustrator. I always take pictures of stuff, but I never really posted it because I never thought anybody wanted to see it. I was thinking from a business perspective I could take photographs and design a logo at the very least, I was wondering if stock photography would keep me afloat in between projects or at least cover overhead costs. Just paying for Adobe and the website would be worth it to me.... I was starting out asking a question but I think I don't have anybody to talk to about this type of stuff so I might just be thinking out loud. I think I'm trying to figure out if I should save up to get the camera and lenses. I'm better at editing than taking photos. I would think that's worth something

Keep at it. FYI, UA-cam is both a search intent based aka "search engine" and bahavior/interest based "videos might interest you (based on your history)" - Facebook/IG is purely interest/behavior based. Both platforms UA-cam and FB/IG (Meta) are equally good, I recommend both platforms in tandem.

i usually use my forearm as a "tripod/fence" - i basically hold out my left forearm and put the lens on that forearm and hold the shutter button on my right finger. technique from sniper days.

I found the process of getting started on Alamy. Their policy of rejected every photo in a submission if they find a problem with one photo can be frustrating. But once you learn to examine your photos more closely before uploading, the process seems to go a lot smoother. That said, I have had the most success over the last seven years in stock photography with iStock (Getty). I've earned more than 10 times what I earned on Shutterstock in the same period with largely the same photos. I also upload to Adobe Stock although I haven't seen a lot of success with them. Finally, I've been uploading to Dreamstime for the past year or so and have yet to see a sale there.

This was a great video for me. I'm in a deep, grumpy photographic slump. Mostly I've just been using my GoPro to make timelapses of the sky. After watching this video, I feel like I have a new project to get me back in the camera groove: make better timelapses.
